(And he gives a great comparison to the reasons that people give for not exercising.)   I used to be guilty of using reasons 1 through 6 as rationalization not to vote.  Thankfully I overcame that about eight years ago.  One point that Dave didn&#8217;t mention is the inconvenience of getting to the polls.  I think if people could vote online and\/or over the phone that we&#8217;d see a significant rise in participation rates.
