I happened to catch a preview of the new season of The Surreal Life<\/a><\/em> the other day and the clips of Flavor Flav convinced me to set my TiVo to record it. After watching the first episode I may have to keep watching the rest of the season… if only to see how long it takes for Flav and Brigitte Nielsen to start bonin’. Some quick thoughts on the show:<\/p>\n

  1. Brigitte got $40 million in her divorce settlement from Sylvester Stallone after only 18 months of marriage??? Hot damn! But after seeing how crazy she is that may have been a bargain for Sly rid himself of her.<\/li>\n
  2. I’m with Flav on not recognizing the roommates. Of course I would have recognized Charo, and Brigitte may have looked a little familiar but I certainly wouldn’t have known her name. As for the rest of those cats — never heard of ya. So I would have been just like Flav, asking them what they do\/did.<\/li>\n
  3. Why in the world is Jordan Knight on a reality TV show if he’s such a recluse? What’s with trying to block his room off by stacking boxes in the doorway? Dude has issues. That makes no sense, especially if he’s trying to promote himself.<\/li>\n
  4. Ryan Starr seems like she’s gonna be a pain in the ass. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a 21 year old so uptight. <\/li>\n
  5. I was pleasantly surprised to see the mellow side of Flav. <\/li>\n
  6. Brigitte, keep your clothes on!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    There are some interesting dynamics in the house already. It’s pretty clear that Brigitte & Flav are gonna dominate the camera time but that’s how it should be because they’ll be the most entertaining.<\/p>\n

    P.S. I’m still waiting for the show that has a cast of all blacks except for one white person. I’d love to see how a white person would feel and act in such a situation. We’ve seen the opposite plenty of times — and another example is coming on the new ‘Real World’ with that brother that’s never had a friend ‘outside his race’.
