Aaron, a.k.a. Uppity Negro"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I was shocked and saddened to see the <a href=\"http:\/\/trancejen.diaryland.com\/040908_1.html\">news of Aaron&#8217;s death<\/a> this morning.  Although I didn&#8217;t know Aaron personally I have read <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uppity-negro.com\/\">his blog<\/a> several times over the last two years.  Part of me is sad because we&#8217;ve lost another young black man senselessly but this also stings because it&#8217;s bringing up memories of one of my best friends who also took his own life. (Fro that reason, please excuse the rambling that follows.  All of a sudden I&#8217;m having trouble thinking straight.)  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.healthyplace.com\/communities\/depression\/minorities_5.asp\" title=\"Suicide Among Blacks\">Suicide is all too prevalent in the Black community<\/a> even if <a href=\"http:\/\/www.alternet.org\/story\/12837\" title=\"Breaking the Silence on Black Suicide\">we refuse to admit it<\/a>.  We all need to be more aware of what our friends and family members are feeling and thinking.  <\/p>\n<p>My deepest condolences go out to Aaron&#8217;s friends and family.  For those of you looking for understanding of and coping with suicide may I suggest a book which a dear friend gave me by Earl A.
