History Detectives

PBS has a new series entitled History Detectives that looks pretty interesting. You history buffs may want to check it out.

History Detectives is devoted to solving historical mysteries, searching out the true facts (and falsehoods) behind local folklore, family legends and interesting objects. Using traditional investigative techniques, modern technologies, and plenty of legwork, the History Detectives team of experts discovers that artifacts, buildings and stories can give us new (and sometimes shocking) insights into our national history.

  1. Hello Patricia (Clupp) Sullivan,

Library of Congress – American Memory has received your question: To the
    American Memory Team:
I am the daughter of a man who worked at Westinghouse in Pittsburgh, Pa.
starting there at age 12 about 1905. He moved to Philadelphia in 1920 when
Westinghouse started the plant in Lester, Pa but called the Philadelphia Plant.
Our family remembers that in 1936 my dad worked on the Mt. Palamar
Telescope and that when the telescope houseing was complete that Albert
Eienstein visited the plant and had his picture taken with the men who worked on
it. We would like to get a copy of this picture if it exists and hope you can
    help me.
    Thank you
