I love how people can just go and make plugins to extend MovableType. James Seng has provided a plugin to stop (automated) spammers. Here’s what it does:
I wrote a plugin to MT that will verify if it is a human before it allows comments to be posted. The idea is pretty simple: Display an image with a Security Code and demand the user to enter a Security Code manually before allowing posting to go through.
I’ll be installing this ASAP. (Hat tip to Diego)
Update: Looks like I’ve run into a slight roadblock. I need to have the GD Graphics Library installed. And it looks like GD depends on some other modules. Argh! I’ll see if I can piece it together. Silly me, GD was already installed. When I tried to install it again I messed it up. Now it’s working as it should.
That sounds pretty cool. How do you like it? How will the commenters like it?
